SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 30

Requesting the governor to establish a nonpartisan advisory commission, similar to the one established under the federal Defense Base Closure and Relocation Act of 1990, to reduce the size and spending of state government.

Whereas, State government expenditures rise every year; and
Whereas, A reduction in the size and cost of government would allow a reduction in taxes to our citizens; and
Whereas, The executive and legislative branches of government should explore ways to reduce taxes and government spending; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the governor is hereby requested to establish a nonpartisan advisory commission, similar to the one established under the federal Defense Base Closure and Relocation Act of 1990, to reduce the size and spending of state government; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby requested to forward a copy of this resolution to the governor.
